Tandra Page 1540, Censorship In America

Visit :

I’m sitting on my back porch looking out over the yard as the rising sun brightens the Eastern sky.

“Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech or of the press....” -Amendment I to the U. S. Constitution, “Freedom of Speech” clause.

Censorship is officially an act of government, to shut down anyone who fails to toe the official party line. Censorship is forbidden in this country by way of the First Amendment. “Congress shall make no law....” This Amendment applies to Congress, in fact to the United States Congress, exclusively, and to no other entity. State governments, city governments, townships, social organizations, private businesses, churches, schools, the Boy Scouts, newspaper chains and anyone or any group, with the exception of Congress, is free to practice censorship until the cows come home. The First Amendment only prohibits Congress.

But, because of the widespread popularity and influence of the First Amendment, other groups and organizations than Congress make play pretend to avoid censorship in official principle if not in practice. Of course Americans have discovered there are numerous exceptions to the First Amendment wherein Congress is allowed, even encouraged, to enforce censorship upon the people. Yelling “FIRE!” in a public gathering springs to mind as a popular example wherein one’s freedom to say whatever one wishes at any time is universally recognized as an example of which the freedom to say whatever one wishes is properly curtailed. Other examples include making false statements about a person with the deliberate intent of compromising his character. There are exceptions, particularly in politics, wherein virtually any false allegation is permitted for the purpose of influencing elections in a desired direction. Judge Roy Moore and the attack on his character in the recent Alabama election springs to mind. Judge Moore was in no wise an anomaly. Character assassination has been a traditional essential of politics throughout this country’s history. Thomas Jefferson was the target of a vicious political smear when the John Adams Campaign spread the allegation that Jefferson made a practice of sleeping with his African slaves and selling off the resultant children into slavery so as to make payment on Jefferson’s debts.

But censorship still rings false to the ears of Americans. Of consequence, censorship is generally labeled with a different name when used to target free speech. Those who would shut up Americans from making comment of which the Establishment does not approve have recently used the label “Hate Speech” to target comments that fly in the face of the Establishment’s Agenda. “Hate Speech” has the sound of evil about it. Who could make issue with censoring “Hate Speech”, even when such speech is factually the truth? Americans should remember that censorship given any other label is still designed to shut down opposition to the Establishment Agenda.

But censorship is not limited to a weapon for use by the Establishment. Private industries and persons are presently censoring speech and information in compliance with the Establishment Agenda. The control of speech that is given out by a private agency or that is relayed by such is not technically censorship. Every person and organization has the right and responsibility to control information under their control. Book publishers are within rights to control the content they publish, as are movie makers to control their content. The same is true of churches and religious organizations. The issue is that the largest organizations that control the flow of information in this country are full in with the Anti-American Agenda.

There is not, to my knowledge, a counterpoint to the monopoly the control of information by those who hold an Anti-American bias. The best option is to work smarter to move information through channels controlled by the enemy. Remember, the Anti-American Crowd are not the Smartest People In The Room. They do not even possess the intelligence to look between their own legs and determine if they should wear pink or if they should dress in blue.
