Tandra Page 1569, Failed Attorney General

I’m sitting on my back porch looking out over the yard as the rising sun brightens the Eastern sky.

United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III still has his supporters, but they are becoming fewer and farther between. The general excuse that Jeff Sessions fans have for his failure to do the job for which he was appointed and confirmed is that Jeff Sessions is “too much of a Southern Gentleman” to get into the fight. Those of a less charitable persuasion believe that United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III is simply part of the Beltway Cesspool. Those less charitable types, of which I am one to a greater degree as time goes by, insist that Jeff Sessions has always been corrupt. Like Saint Ted Cruz, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is pretty good at saying the words that make him appear a man of courage to the impressionable, but he is considerably less convincing when it comes time to back high sounding words with effective actions.

United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III had a reputation of sorts for integrity while he held his Senate seat from Georgia. I remember him then from acolytes praising his speeches in defense of America and the Constitution. I don’t, on the other hand, remember any substantive actions he took in defense of Liberty and American Law. Perchance I have bad memory or was not paying attention. I do have other things in my life aside from tracking the comings and goings of hack career politicians. I am certain there are acts of courage and high conviction that come about in Congress that escape my notice, possibly up to and including one or two such acts in a Congressional term. I know Saint Ted Cruz also holds a high reputation with so-called political conservatives, but I have yet to find a single substantive reason why that should be so.

Those who have kept track of United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III since his days as a local politician in his home state of Alabama insist the man has always been corrupt, a first rate con artist always on the look for the main chance. When Sessions landed in Washington, he did not change his stripes, but he became a past master at making speeches to please his uncritical constituents back home.

United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III was one of the first high profile members of the career political class to give his support to Candidate Donald J. Trump. Sessions never publicly wavered in his support. One wonders why. The most likely answer is that the people back in Alabama favoured Donald J. Trump. In all probability, Senator Sessions thought supporting Donald J. Trump was a risk free proposition. First off, no one much thought The Donald would ever win the election. Second off, Sessions likely believed that Candidate Donald J. Trump was just another blow hard politician who would promptly betray every campaign promise he ever made once he walked into the Oval Office. Jeff Sessions likely believed that a President Donald J. Trump would sink into the Beltway Cesspool with nary a ripple.

Jeff Sessions support of Candidate Donald J. Trump resulted in him being rewarded with the office of Attorney General of these United States. Since stepping into position, United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III has been pretty much AWOL and Missing In Action. Certainly United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III has made a few speeches in a feeble attempt to maintain his questionable street creds but, in the main, United States Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III has continued to be a hack career politician serving his own interests and always on the look out for the main chance.
